Family Pics May 2011

I'm absolutely terrible at blogging as you can probably see by the last post 2 1/2 years ago that coincidentally was also family pictures.  We would like to thank my cousin, Jeremy Moon, for taking these.  He did a great job.  Take a look.

Family pictures

Here are the results of our recent excursion to get family pictures. For the most part they turned out really good, but it is quite an undertaking to get everyone to be serious in the same picture.

These are some individual pictures of Ethan that were taken separately around the beginning of November. He's quite a bit bigger than that now. :) We estimate that he is in the range of 17 lbs. now.

15 years

I thought I would take a page from Melissa's blog and post some pictures as a rememberance to Dad. It's hard to believe that it has been 15 years. I know that I echo everyone's sentiment when I say I miss you and love you. I enjoyed the opportunities that we had to go skiing and golfing together. It was also fun to be able to work with you at Double Kwik. I'll be quiet now and let the pictures do the talking.

5 weeks old

Ethan is a wonderful baby. He is happy almost all of the time. Catherine is getting worn out because he eats so much. He started his 2-week growth spurt when he was a week old he's still in the middle of it. He weighed 7 lbs 1 oz when he was born and we guesstimate that he is in the range of 12-13 lbs now.

Happy Halloween

Everybody had a great time on Halloween night. Ethan even got in on the action and went trick-or-treating for a while. I can't complain about the weather this year. It was so mild that we didn't even need jackets. It did start to rain a little while we were out, but it's better than snow.

Our little pumpkin. The costume can't take all the credit for how big he looks. Ethan is impatient just like the rest of his siblings. I think he is trying to catch up in size to his older brother by the time he is 2 months old.

Adam loves Spiderman and can't wait to put on his costume every time he sees it. He isn't too fond of the mask, but I did manage a couple of pictures before he ripped it off.

Jaime went as a fairy this year. She had so much fun putting on makeup before we left. I'm already beginning to see what she'll be like monopolizing the bathroom as she gets older.

Ryan had fun going as a pirate, but we were just a bit short on the pirate clothing part.

We did manage to get Alex in the group picture. He was practically wearing a hole in the carpet waiting to take this picture so that he could bail and spend the night with his friends. A great looking bunch of kids, if I do say so myself.

Way to go Alex!!

I just need to mention an accomplishment of Alex's this past Saturday. I've been riding my bike a lot this summer and decided that it made sense for Alex to accompany me on some of my rides and earn the Cycling merit badge. Over the summer he went on 2-10 mile rides, 2-15 mile rides and 2-25 mile rides with me. This past Saturday was the last and BIG one, a 50-miler. He did great. We were gone for about 5 1/2 hours and spent 4 1/2 hours of that time on our bikes. We rode from our house and almost made it to the interchange of Legacy highway and I-215. Not only was it his first 50, it was mine as well. I'd had some pretty long rides during the summer, but not that long. I can't speak for Alex, but I don't appreciate getting that cozy for that long with a bike seat.

Congrats, Alex!!!

Settling In

All of the kids simply adore Ethan. They are always asking to hold him. Adam especially can get upset very quickly if someone else is holding the baby and he wants to, but he sure loves his little brother.
